Oil Storage Tank Regulations
Oil storage is highly regulated within the UK. It is a legal requirement to store fuel in a safe, responsible and environmentally friendly way, since even a small oil spillage can devastate the local environment.
The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001 require all above ground oil storage containers in excess of 200 litres capacity at commercial, industrial and institutional premises to have secondary containment since 1st September 2005.
